Non-Communicable Disease Research: The disease burden has significantly shifted from communicable to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in India in past few decades. These NCDs are expensive to treat and manage, leading to higher healthcare budgets. There is a urgent need to understand the molecular etiology of these diseases to develop better preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies. The most common NCDs are, cardiovascular stroke, diabetes, hypertension, obesity and cancers.

Our research programs are aimed at understanding the epidemiological and molecular aspects of these diseases. Also we work on disease-disease interplay or diseasome networks.
